Beliefs Statement

The Bible is God's Holy Word

We believe that the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are the unerring, divinely authoritative, complete, and sufficient word of God. These Holy Scriptures are the supreme authority for faith and life (II Timothy 3:15-17, II Peter 1:20,21).

Who Is God?

We believe in one God who exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three persons of the Godhead are equal in power, divinity, and glory (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:18-20).

We are all sinners:

We believe that all men are sinners (Romans 3:23). We all deserve eternal death for our sin (Romans 6:23). Doing good deeds cannot erase our sin (Titus 3:5). Good works show gratitude to God for His grace but they cannot buy our redemption (Ephesians 2:8-10). The only way sinful people can be made holy is through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ (Romans 3:23, Titus 3:3-8).

Jesus Christ is the answer to man's greatest problem:

We believe that the second Person of the Trinity became a man through the virgin birth and yet still remains fully God. He lived a righteous life, died, suffered the punishment that His people deserved, and was raised again. We believe He ascended to the right hand of the Father from where He rules and reigns as Lord of Heaven and Earth. He will return bodily to gather all of His people and to establish the eternal glory of a New Heaven and Earth (Colossians 2:9-15, I Corinthians 15:1-8).

The Spirit is our Comforter:

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God, the third Person of the Trinity. Believers in Christ are sanctified and conformed to the image of Jesus Christ, preserved in faith, and prepared for glory through the personal work of the indwelling Holy Spirit (John 14: 15-17, Romans 12:1,2).

History unfolds under God's sovereign care:

We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord of all. Good works do not save us, but good works are the sign of a true Christian (Ephesians 2:10). A believer in Christ strives to do good works out of gratitude to a holy God who has saved us by His loving grace. This affects our view of history and every discipline of life. We believe that Jesus Christ is King and we are His servants to bring every area of life under His supreme rule (II Corinthians 5:14-21, Ephesians 2:8-10).

The true body of Christ takes many forms:

We believe that the body of believers takes many forms and is not exclusive to any one denomination or sect. Unity among our cycle ministry body is of paramount importance and will not be compromised                                        (Psalms 133:1, I Corinthians 12:13).

Salvation:

The Bible says that we should place our trust in Jesus Christ alone for our eternal salvation (John 3:16, Acts 4:12). We must stop trusting in our own goodness (Titus 3:5). We must turn from our lives of indifference to God and place all of our faith, hope, and trust in Jesus (I John 5:11-13). We can tell him that our heart desires to accept Christ's payment and forgiveness for our sins and allow Him to change our lives to conform to His Word (John 3:16, I John 5:11-13).

 If you have never made Jesus the Lord of your life, you can do so now by telling God that is the desire of your heart. Any member of  "Wings" would welcome the opportunity to introduce you to Jesus Christ. He is the most important person in our lives (Acts 4:12, Romans 10:13).
